one thing to make this place better is to make it more energy efficient. insulating the cellar ceiling and wrapping water pipes and using some type of pipe heater to keep pipes from freezing. running an electric heater in the cellar 24/7 is very expensive. another recommendation would be to remove the large stump and tree which is close to the back door. the stump makes it difficult to plow and makes a very narrow passage way past the back steps. The back steps were almost hit by a car several times this past winter.
Manager Response
The Stump has been removed as of Fall 2009 and we are working on insulating the basement in a more efficient manor to enable a lower cost of utiltlies come winter time. Thank you for your input Mr. Colby, and thank you for having chosen Franconia Notch Vacations and the Old Crow Cabin for your winter's enjoyment.
